The POWRi Align Pro Lonestar 600's presented by No Limits Graphics set up camp at 105 SpeedWay for 2019 Season Opener. The land of Texas hasn't seen sunshine in days. And some how by the mercy of mother nature. We conquered our 1st night into the season. Misting all night long. To, at one point, a heavy drizzle. Even though mother nature teased. We made it through the damp pits & invading fog.
Heats up first. Restrictors Heat Race Winner- Christopher Townsend. Jr. Sprints Heat Race Winner- Trevor Twardeski. 600s Heat 1 Winner- Mike Walling. 600s Heat 2 Winner-Blake Moeller. 600s Heat 3 Winner- Johhny B Boland. 600s Heat 4 Winner- Isaiah Garcia
The drizzle caused everyone to scramble into trailers in avoidance before features. Only to say, "Sike, you can still race!".
Restrictors up first. Christopher Townsend & Jayton Brown lead the pack to the green. Brown jumps to the front. Townsend close behind. Degan Lelsz knocking on the door. Caution and caution again. Thomas Hall Jr. retires due to a ill handling ride. Townsend snags the lead. Brown gets it back. The dance is ON. They shuffle positions before Townsend prevails. #6 of Christopher Townsend parks it in the Driven Midwest Performance Victory Lane!
Jr. Sprints, lady & gents you are up! Trevor Twardeski & Dalten Maust bring them to the green. Twardeski takes the lead. Maust giving it his all. 2 laps in, Maust stalls to the infield with a ripped belt. Back to it. Beau Chapman is trailing in 2nd. The race is on! Chapman is giving every trick in the book to get around in a loose ride! Half way, Camryn Spake spins her around in turn 1. Caution out & she continues on. Twardeski holds it. Last lap Chapman wants it. He attempts to pass coming out of 2. Twardeski sticks it & snags the checkers. The #27T Trevor Twardeski parks it in the Driven Midwest Performance Victory Lane!
600s, Mother Nature is still testing us. But she's giving us a shot at the feature. Preston Perlmutter & Mike Walling lead the 24 car field to the green. Perlmutter takes it & runs. Isaiah Garcia treks & steals the lead. Hello slide jobs. Johnny B Boland gets it. The battle is real & intense. 3 laps in Maverick Elkins brings out the caution as he stalls into turn 2. Back to it. Johnny B is rolling & walking off. Isaiah Garcia, Blake Moeller, Tanner Dunlap are putting on quite the show. Slide job, slide job, slide job. Caution out. Mike Walling brings it out, broken. Green again. The shows takes off. Boland still out front. The entire field is racing hard. From 2nd to 24th. The passing is shuffling. Boland has entered lap traffic. Never lifting, he works through. Passes putting the entire grands stands on the edge of their seats. 21K of Randall Traylor slow rolls down the back stretch & brings the yellow along. Race continues on. Garcia attempts to catch Boland. Moeller joins. The action is purely awesome. Boland keeps it & takes off. The #1V of Johnny Boland parks it in the Driven Midwest Performance victory lane!
Even if the weather was against us all night. The 1st night into the 2019 was pretty great! We'd like to say THANK YOU to 105 SpeedWay for having us amongst their racing program!
