The POWRi Align Pro Lonestar 600's presented K & K Earthworks watched the news & waited patiently. South Texas Speedway worked vigorously to attempt to host. The word gave way that South Texas Speedway had taken on too much water. The days to come didn't look promising either. Wednesday. The day that the owners of the series sought out a new venue. And along came Big O Speedway. They opened their arms, welcomed us to race & said we are going to up your purse as well. $1,000 to Win for 600's. $300 to win for the Restrictors. Let's do it!
A beautiful, hot sunny day greeted us as we entered the facility. The Big O just waiting to feel rubber amongst it. 36 600's & 8 Restrictors check in for the night's event!

600's it's go time, y'all!! 24 cars roll onto to the fast slick surface. What was once tacky in the heats. Has now formed into a beauty, ready for competition. 4 wide salute to the fans & a fire work display sponsored by Wholesale Fireworks Danbury Tx leaves the crowd in "Oh, Wow!" The display was pretty awesome! Double file. Brandon Moeller & Chuck Dunlap lead them to the green. Instant yellow in turn 1, as Moeller finds himself tagged. Spun around. The front end toasted. Driver retires to the infield. Try again, we go. Soon as they hit the flag stand, commotion commences. Karter Battarbee finds himself upside down. Driver checks out okay & exits to the infield. The POWRi Lonestar 600's Ultrashield Safety Crew are on it. Left & right clearing the track quickly. Back under green. The top 5 is shuffling. Jason Tyer out front. Jacob Lucas is knocking. Like Cris cross apple sauce, the slide jobs are frequent. And smooth. Christopher Larson, Luke Lucas in the mix. Mike Walling is catfishing the bottom & making it work too. Isaiah Garcia in 4th. He seeks out his prey. He sets it going into 3. See's the hole and slides her. From 4th, bottom of the track. He sails it. The crowd is going absolutely nuts. All the way across the top 4, taking the lead. Tyer & Lucas regroup from being stunned by the new moves in town. They take back 1st & 2nd. Luke Lucas finds himself in a spin, finishing off with a light back roll. Car & driver check out okay. He drives her to the pits. Back to green. Top 5 are seriously giving the crowd their money's worth of thrills. Slide job, after slide job, after slide job. A few cautions here & there for soun cars have come & gone. Tyer holds the lead. Jacob Lucas is on it. Are they racing? Or giggling over the racing exchanges occurring? White flag. Lucas trails it, he gets it. Tyer trying hard. Lucas holds it & captures the win by a bumper to Tyer. Talk about incredible! Jacob Lucas parks his #57 ride in the D1 Driven Midwest Victory Lane. Where he snags a $1,000 check & cashes it in!
Restrictors arrive for the final count down. Thomas Hall Jr. & Dylan Still on the front row. Green flag drops. Jayton Brown finds himself in a game of spin the wheel in turn 2. Back at it. Landen Zakalowski gets collected by the turn 2 spin wheel. Green, green. Dylan Still is out front. Thomas Hall Jr. running second. Kamirin Cook finds the gremlin hiding in turn 2. Once again, green is out. Christopher Townsend trails 3rd. Still holding the lead. The gremlin sends out his banana. Like Mario kart. Collecting Zakalowski to the infield for 2 spins. Green. He seeks another banana & gets Kamirin Cook to retire too. Green, hello again. Christopher Townsend spots it, tries it & takes the lead. Still in 2nd. Hall 3rd. Still his giving it his all. But Townsend has it. And he parks his #6 ride in the D1 Driven Midwest Performance Victory Lane!!
This was a race put together very quickly. We can't thank Bridget & Jim Moon, owners of Big O Speedway, enough for taking the risk on our series! We gave it out best shot! So very much appreciate the opportunity! We are stoked to join the facility again in September.
