CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (December 27, 2017)
The POWRi Lonestar 600 Series Presented by K&K Earthworks has added a stop at the South Texas Speedway on Saturday June 23rd for the Inaugural South Texas Showdown with a $750 to win show featuring the Non-Wing 600's on the Corpus Christi 1/4 mile. The event is part of The Annual Shriner's Childrens Hospital Benefit Night at the South Texas Speedway.
“We are excited to bring the POWRi Lonestar 600 series to South Texas Speedway for the Inaugural South Texas Showdown.", said South Texas Speedway General Manger Steven Whiteaker Jr. "We feel this event is another unique element which rounds out our 2018 schedule nicely." The POWRi series is the second of three premiere groups to attack the speedway in 2018. The others include the season opener for the USMTS modifieds on February 23 & 24 and the Labor Day Weekend double header for the ASCS Gulf South Region sprint cars on September 1 &2.
